DrugFreeLex is the local Agency for Substance Abuse Policy (ASAP) Board for Fayette County. It is a partnership of local organizations and individuals who share resources and knowledge to educate and reduce substance abuse in the community. Our mission is to empower the community to prevent use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs among youth and work to reduce the overall impact of these substances in Fayette County.
The Kentucky Agency for Substance Abuse Policy (KY-ASAP) was created in 2000 to develop a strategic plan to reduce the prevalence of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use among youth and adult populations in Kentucky and coordinate efforts among state and local agencies in the area of substance abuse prevention. The program is operated out of the Office for Drug Control Policy and funded through the Kentucky State Legislature.
